WHAT IS DIVINE MERCY?
God’s love, poured out without limit.
Divine Mercy is the infinite love of God made visible through Jesus Christ.
It is not only that God loves us—it is that He loves us even when we fall, even when we fail, and even when we turn away.
His mercy is His love in action.

What is Divine Mercy?
Divine Mercy is the way God loves.
It is love that forgives.
Love that restores.
Love that does not turn away.
In Jesus Christ, we see this mercy fully revealed—especially in His Passion, where He gives Himself completely for us.
Love Fulfilled in Mercy
We often think of love as a feeling—but God’s love is far greater.
True love gives.
True love sacrifices.
True love forgives.
Mercy is the fullest expression of that love.
To be merciful is to love even when it is difficult—to forgive, to be patient, and to extend compassion beyond what is deserved.
In this way, mercy is not separate from love—it is its perfection.
Jesus Christ: Love and Mercy
Jesus is not only loving—He is Love itself (1 John 4:8).
And in His actions, we see that His love is merciful.
-
He forgives sinners
-
He heals the broken
-
He welcomes the outcast
-
He gives His life for us
On the Cross, His mercy is fully revealed.
The Message of Divine Mercy (St. Faustina)
Jesus, I trust in You.
The message of Divine Mercy was entrusted to St. Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun, through a series of visions of Jesus.
In these revelations, Jesus emphasized the importance of trusting in His mercy.
The image of Divine Mercy bears the inscription:
“Jesus, I trust in You.”
This trust is at the heart of the devotion.
Trust in Mercy
To trust in Jesus is to trust in His mercy.
It means believing that:
-
His love is greater than our sin
-
His forgiveness is always available
-
His mercy is never exhausted
“Trust in Mercy” is a call to place our confidence not in ourselves, but in Him
Living Divine Mercy

The Sacraments, especially Confession and the Eucharist
-
Prayer and trust in Him
-
Turning back to Him, no matter how far we’ve gone
Showing Mercy to Others
We are also called to reflect God’s mercy in our own lives.
Jesus teaches us:
-
To forgive others
-
To love our enemies
-
To act with compassion
To be merciful is to live like Christ.
