DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET

A prayer of trust in God’s infinite mercy.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a simple yet powerful prayer focused on the mercy of Jesus Christ.

Given through St. Faustina, it invites us to trust in His mercy and to offer His sacrifice to the Father—for ourselves and for the whole world.

It can be prayed at any time, but is especially encouraged at 3:00 PM—the Hour of Mercy.

What is the Divine Mercy Chaplet?

The Chaplet is a set of prayers prayed on a standard rosary.

Unlike the Rosary, which meditates on the life of Christ, the Divine Mercy Chaplet focuses on His Passion—offering His Body and Blood to the Father in reparation for sin.

It is both personal and intercessory:

We pray for our own hearts

We pray for others

We pray for the whole world

How to Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet

[Make the Sign of the Cross]

"In the Name of Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen."

[Recite the Opening Prayers]

"You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls,
and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us."

"O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus
as a fountain of mercy for us, I trust in You!" [repeat 3 times]

[Recite the Our Father]

"Our Father

[Recite Hail Mary]

[Recite the Apostles Creed]

[Recite Eternal Father on 1st Our Father Bead]

"Eternal Father,
I offer You the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity
of Your dearly beloved Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins
and those of the whole world."

[Recite on Each Hail Mary Bead]

"For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us
and on the whole world." [repeat this 10 times]

[Repeat Eternal Father prayer and the 10 petitions four more times]

[Recite Closing Prayers]

"Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us and on the whole world."
(repeat 3 times)

"Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent,
but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will,
which is Love and Mercy itself."

The Hour of Mercy - 3:00 PM

Jesus asked that we remember His Passion at 3:00 PM—the hour of His death on the Cross.

This is a powerful time to pray the Chaplet, even if only briefly.

If you cannot pray the full Chaplet, simply pause and say:
“Jesus, I trust in You.”

Why this Prayer is so Important

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a prayer of trust.

It reminds us that:

God’s mercy is greater than our sin
We are never beyond His forgiveness
We can intercede for others through Christ
